Dave Edwards (he,him)
Dave Edwards earned a M.A.T. in Special Education from National Louis University, a B.A. in Psychology and Music from Hamline University and is currently a Ph.D. student in Educational Psychology at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Before working at the U, Dave worked as a cross-categorical special education teacher in Chicago Public Schools, a self-contained Autism teacher in Saint Paul Public Schools and as the Dean of Students and SPED administrator in a Minneapolis charter school.
He is licensed in Illinois as an Learning Behavior Specialist and holds special education licenses in the areas of Developmental Disabilties, Learning Disabilities and Emotional Behavior Disorders in the state of Minnesota. Dave has been working for the last two years as the lead instructor in the residency-based EBD licensure program at the UMN.
Dave's research focuses on the development of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support to support gender inclusive school climates. He regularly presents to a variety of audiences on the needs of students who are transgender and gender diverse youth in public schools.
