Welcoming Schools invites you to their first ever Back-to-School PD session exclusively for school administrators, building-level leadership teams, superintendents, and school board members. This online session of the Welcoming Schools' foundational training: "Creating Gender Inclusive Schools", will be tailored to the decision-makers in your school community! Join us on August 29th at 2:00 pm CST to explore whether the industry-leading Welcoming Schools PD program is a good fit for the needs of your educators and service providers!

This 90-minute interactive session will prepare school leaders to better answer questions from students and families related to S.O.G.I.E. (sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression) topics while learning how to develop gender-inclusive learning environments!

Topics include:
❖ defining LGBTQ vocabulary for students of all ages

❖ reflecting on the messages students receive about LGBTQ identities

❖ high-impact strategies that can significantly increase positive outcomes for queer and trans students

❖ responding to challenging questions and comments in the classroom, like "That's So Gay".

❖ using Welcoming Schools book lists and lesson plans to establish LGBTQ-inclusive school climates

Registration is $40 and available only to those currently serving in a leadership capacity in their school communities.
